Engagement Shoot

Amy Flood is getting married (that's Eric). I took these pic for her. I feel like I learned more about lighting, but mainly I think I want to have a list of poses to go through so I don't feel like I am winging it during my shoots. Plus I love that people can get variety...I guess thats whats next to work on.

Small Church Wedding

 This couple were so wonderful to work with. SO nice and they said they like the pics. It was a small wedding with some family a few friends and them and their children. Isn't she beautiful?

Someone pitched in and did some decoration with things that they had. I was a sweet wedding.

Not that anyone actually reads these....

....but I thought I would share how much fun I have learning and practicing with my camera and using photoshop. I love to take pictures. I love giving people something they can cherish. I just did a wedding for a couple who were certain they couldn't get nice pictures for their special event. I felt so good about how happy they were to get nice pictures. they told me a week after I gave them their pics how many people they have showed them off to. I want to do that for everyone. Who doesn't want something to cherish? And I get better every time I use my camera. It is probably one of my favorite things to do in my free time. The above picture is one of a neckless that I played with in photo shop. I just learned how to do texturing. That's gonna take more time to perfect, but I like some of the effects you can achieve.

Picture Practice

I have had the wonderful privilege of being hired to take pictures for a few events. I have loved the hands on practice time and love it when I can provide something nice for someone.

This is Del and his wife Lynn. They had a 30th wedding anniversary and celebrated by renewing their vows. He is a biker.

Chris and Bre had a wonderful reception about a week after they were married, where I was their photographer. I babysat her and her brother regularly for about five years. She was so beautiful in her wedding gown.

We made these little snow people for FHE one night.

Bad face day for Disney Princess

We went to Borders for the "sale" (aka- Romance novel sale, YUCK)
and found a princess activity book complete with princess figures.
I had to show the world that even our cartoon standard holders of
perfect beauty can have a bad face day.





We have the Evil Snow White and Aurora. Wall eyed Bell. Quasi Moto Ariel.

One hour later and still no sock

The Rexburg temple sorta looks like it is floating with the clouds.
We went to Utah and Idaho to visit family and pack up our stuff from storage( that we had to leave in Utah )and bring it back to California. We got to see almost everyone we wanted. Obviously a trip like this was going to produce some "maybe next time"'s.
But we are back and unpacking and trying to find places for everything we haven't used for two years. We are going to have a yard sale or donate stuff or something cuz there's just bunches of stuff. Like most trips getting back into the swing of daily routine takes a little while. Laundry and dishes...always a monster. I was being a good little homemaker and doing some laundry, when as I pulled the lint trap out to clean it, in fell a little orange sock! WHAT!!!! I looked online where i found optimistic step by step plans for retrieving an article of laundry that might just happen to slip into the lint trap hole. One hour later and still no sock (thanks for nothing ehow!) I pulled the back off the dryer, wrentched open the lint trap cave and found my little orange sock in the fan (yeah a fan stand between your lint trap and your dryer freedom hose that leads outside. Who knew). Covered in lint and sweat I replaced everything with only two extra screws! Pretty good Eh? So I guess that was my dryers way of saying "welcome home".
We are all enjoying the vacation from work and school.

Here's the thing about "bald"

In the dictionary the word "bald" has a few definitions. One of them is "lacking a natural or usual covering (as of hair, vegetation, or nap). Recently, my daughter has become lacking in usual covering...she cut her own hair. Really, really short. We went to the salon (which I promptly called as soon as I stopped crying) and got it as fixed as is possible. It will have to remain without usual covering in some parts until it grows back. Some call this self shearing a right of passage for children, others have comments more negative in nature, I don't really know where I stand. I mean, some kids do it and some don't. I did...twice!
I had a good cry and now I'm over it. She's such a good little girl. Perhaps she'll make a profession out of her adventurousness.
